Hello Manoj -

Do you mean to say the mysql server is running on 172.31.22.158 server and the MEM service manager is on another server ?

yes, try to access the MEM server on 172.31.22.158.

I'm not very clear about your description, If you have the enterprise monitor on the different server, you may have to provide the service manager information when doing the agent installation on the mysql server host.

here is the installation steps for installing MEM service manager : http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-server-install-unix.html
how to start /stop the service manager : http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-server-starting-unix-osx.html
installation steps for agent : http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-install-agent-unix.html

Hi Anand ,

Actually our MySQL server is accessing remotely and IP of that “172.31.22.158” but MySQL monitor
Want access “127.0.0.1” IP which is not access by remotely.
In 172.31.22.158 MySQL server I saw all start and stop command of MySQL Monitor working properly,
But I am unable see that. I think my host(MySQL monitor) configures by 127.0.0.1 and I access that server 172.31.22.158.

But when we access 127.0.0.1 there is no response from server.

Thanks

Hello Manoj -

What message you get when you try to access the UI ?

The actual installation steps is to install the mysql serivce manager first and then to install the agent providing the service manager details during the installation.

Shall we do a web conference session, so that it wont stretch longer ?

Thanks

Hello Manoj -

Its the same method how you downloaded the agent installer.

You can download Enterprise Monitor by one of two ways given below:

1) https://edelivery.oracle.com

2) "Patches & Updates" tab within MOS (My Oracle Support):
1. Access MOS at https://support.oracle.com
2. Click on "Patches & Updates" navigation tab
3. In the "Patch Search" section, click on the "Product or Family (Advanced Search)" link.
4. Type "MySQL Enterprise Monitor" into the "Product" field, which will bring up an auto-complete list.
5. Expand the options in the "Release" field and chose one or multiple releases.
6. Click the "Search" button.

MySQL Enterprise Monitor 3.0.13 is available at present., I suggest you use the latest one, which has fixes for many defects.

Patch 19248492: MySQL Enterprise Monitor Service Manager 3.0.13 for Linux x86 (64-bit) ----> this is the patch for service manager

direct download link : https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download/p19248492_30_Linux-x86-64.zip?aru=17866283&patch_file=p19248492_30_Linux-x86-64.zip

Patch 19248502: MySQL Enterprise Monitor Agent 3.0.13 for Linux x86 (64-bit) ----> this is the MEM agent installer

direct download link : https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download/p19248502_30_Linux-x86-64.zip?aru=17866293&patch_file=p19248502_30_Linux-x86-64.zip

I see you have installed MEM agent 3.7, so in case if you would like to proceed with 3.7 service manager, here is the patch you have to download.

Patch 18329759: MySQL Enterprise Monitor Service Manager 3.0.7 for Linux x86 (64-bit) --- service manager version 3.0.7

direct download link : https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download/p18329759_30_Linux-x86-64.zip?aru=17369377&patch_file=p18329759_30_Linux-x86-64.zip

Oracle Support - Aug 20, 2014 11:33 AM (7 days ago)
Hello Manoj -

Didn't you install MySQL monitor server manager before installing mem agent ? If not, you need to install it first.

The name of the installer file is usually like this mysqlmonitor-version-platform-installer.bin

I mentioned this on my initial note of this SR .

The below link explains how to install MySQL Enterprise Monitor(MEM)

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-install.html

Once installed, it can be access in this link - https://127.0.0.1:18443

Please let us know if you have any issues installing service manager.

Notes
Oracle Support - Aug 19, 2014 5:05 PM (8 days ago)
Hello Manoj -

This seems to be a problem with the installer, by default MEM installs the 32 bit JVM version on a 64 bit OS, this issues is because of the machine which doesn't have 32-bit-support installed. Use the 64bit OS installer to fix this issue or have a system managers install 32-bit-support, 32-bit-support is not installed by default on all linux systems it seems.

so, could you try to install the below agent installer and see if that helps ?

mysqlmonitoragent-3.0.7.2946-linux-jvm64-x86-64bit-installer.bin

Hi ,

MySQL configured properly .thanks for help, i want to install MySQL monitor tool now please look in to " Monday" conversation
related to

There should be one agent for each instances.

If there is already a service running, you should give a different name for the agent service name here:

Agent Service Name [mysql-monitor-agent]: mysql-monitor-agent-3307

>> /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory

Is your machine 32 bit ?

Now i am working on that .

My machine is 64 bit.

Thanks

Hello Manoj -

There should be one agent for each instances.

If there is already a service running, you should give a different name for the agent service name here:

Agent Service Name [mysql-monitor-agent]: mysql-monitor-agent-3307

>> /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory

Is your machine 32 bit ?

The error says, the installer need the glibc version for 32 bit.

so, you need to install glibc.i686 rpm or glibc.i386

For agent installation, just install the below binaries.

mysqlmonitoragent-3.0.7.2946-linux-x86-64bit-update-installer.bin
mysqlmonitoragent-3.0.7.2946-linux-x86-64bit-installer.bin

Hello Manoj -

You can download Enterprise Backup by one of two ways given below:

1) https://edelivery.oracle.com

2) "Patches & Updates" tab within MOS (My Oracle Support):
1. Access MOS at https://support.oracle.com
2. Click on "Patches & Updates" navigation tab
3. In the "Patch Search" section, click on the "Product or Family (Advanced Search)" link.
4. Type "MySQL Enterprise Monitor" into the "Product" field, which will bring up an auto-complete list.
5. Expand the options in the "Release" field and chose one or multiple releases.
6. Click the "Search" button.

Installing MySQL Enterprise Monitor (MEM) consists of two main parts:

1) Service Manager
2) Agent

It is recommended to install the Service Manager on a separate server, so the same Service Manager can collect data from all you servers. This will also prevent the Service Manager from competing with the production server for resources.

And for the Agent, It is common to install on the same server as the server it is monitoring. One agent can monitor multiple MySQL servers. It is not required to install the MEM Agent on the same server as MySQL is installed, but if you install the agent on a remote server, the agent will not report the OS information!

The below link explains how to install MySQL Enterprise Monitor(MEM)

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-install.html

The below link gives more details about the installation steps.

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-install-server.html
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-install-agent.html

Hi,

>i want to do one more thing related to MySQL server monitoring tool , how we will install that tool?
>
The install instructions are here:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/3.0/en/mem-installing.html

Note however, that this Service Request is already pretty long and deals with a different problem than MySQL Enterprise Monitor (MEM) install. We typically try to handle different problems on different SRs. This approach gives both you and us several advantages; for instance, by having a new SR, we can concentrate better on the new issue and it also helps us in speeding up the review time (and hence the response time) needed in case a new engineer take ownership of a SR, should the previous owner be not available. Keeping one problem per SR thus leads to shorter, easier to read tickets which are easier to classify and refer back to. For this reason, can I request that you open a new Service Request in case you need further assistance with MEM installation?

Hi,

> can i increase or decease digit which is provide above MySQL variables?
You can modify those default values in the my.cnf to make them permanent or some of those variables are dynamic so they can be changed while the server is running. It is important you have some way to measure that you are getting better performance from your application when making changes.
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/thread-pool-tuning.html

> above parameters will be use whole database OR only Innodb table type?
Overall configuration of the thread pool, so the whole database, all database engines, MyISAM or Innodb or others.

Hi,

To set buffer pool in my.cnf, edit the my.cnf and under the [mysqld] section add this:

innodb_buffer_pool_size=128M

The size is currently 128M which is the default value. Change it as necessary, depending on how much memory you have free and
how much innodb data there is. Restart of mysqld is required for the change to take effect.

Recommended steps (require MySQL resttart):

1. add following parameter to [mysqld_safe] section of my.cnf :

plugin-dir=/usr/lib64/mysql/plugin

2. add following parameter to [mysqld] section of my.cnf :

plugin-dir=/usr/lib64/mysql/plugin

3. Restart MySQL Server, observe output of "show plugins;" . If still no luck - send us error log and modified my.cnf

In order to assist with exact folder where thread_pool.so should be located, we need to know what exact packages you did install.
E.g. could you execute following Linux shell commands:

rpm -qa |grep -i mysql
cat /etc/*release

Or consider searching for file on all disks using command below (may take some time):

find / 2> /dev/null |grep thread_pool.so

Hi Manoj

To install Thread Pool plugin ,you just need put "plugin-load=thread_pool.so"
under "[mysqld]" in your my.cnf file, usually MySQL option file location will be /etc/my.cnf :

So you need edit this file like below :

[mysqld]
#any other options
#any other options
plugin-load=thread_pool.so

Which is equivalent to loading all thread pool plugins by naming them individually:

[mysqld]
plugin-load=thread_pool.so
plugin-load=thread_pool=thread_pool.so;tp_thread_state=thread_pool.so;tp_thread_group_state=thread_pool.so;tp_thread_group_stats=thread_pool.so

Then restart MySQL server and check plugins status with "show plugins"

Please have a look below link for details :

8.11.6.1 Thread Pool Components and Installation
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/thread-pool-installation.html

And let us know if you have any questions .

Dachao Gao

Hi Manoj,
So after reviewing the mysqld.log file you uploaded, it shows the following:
.....
2014-07-30 18:25:35 14709 [Note] Event Scheduler: Loaded 0 events
2014-07-30 18:25:35 14709 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '5.6.18-enterprise-commercial-advanced' socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' port: 3306 MySQL Enterprise Server - Advanced Edition (Commercial)

Which seems to indicate that you are back up and running again.
Can you confirm what plugins are being used at this time by running the following command:

mysql> SHOW PLUGINS;

Kind regards
Jonathon

Hi,

Message "[ERROR] InnoDB: Unable to lock ./ibdata1, error: 11" most often indicates that MySQL Server wasn't shutdown properly.

Could you try following steps:

1. shutdown MySQL Server
2. Make sure that mysqld process doesn't appear in output of top :

top -b -n 1 |grep mysqld

3. Start MySQL Server and send us error log

If at step #2 you see that mysqld process is still hanging around, please collect several outputs of command below and send us for review:

gdb -ex "set pagination 0" -ex "thread apply all bt" --batch -p $(pidof mysqld)
gdb -ex "set pagination 0" -ex "thread apply all bt" --batch -p $(pidof mysqld)
gdb -ex "set pagination 0" -ex "thread apply all bt" --batch -p $(pidof mysqld)
gdb -ex "set pagination 0" -ex "thread apply all bt" --batch -p $(pidof mysqld)
gdb -ex "set pagination 0" -ex "thread apply all bt" --batch -p $(pidof mysqld)

Hi Manoj,
Thank you for contacting MySQL Support regarding your questions on the MySQL Thread Pool feature and monitoring the threads.

The installation instructions are located in the manual at: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/thread-pool-installation.html
The simplest method is to change your my.cnf configuration with the lines:

[mysqld]
plugin-load=thread_pool.so
plugin-load=thread_pool=thread_pool.so;tp_thread_state=thread_pool.so;tp_thread_group_state=thread_pool.so;tp_thread_group_stats=thread_pool.so

Once the above changes are made, please restart the mysqld service.

Note that the second line loads all the plugins required to have the thread information in the information_schema tables.

Kind regards
